Develop strategic business development plan, determining target market and resources to be capitalized; Set profitability goals and determine business strategy to achieve the same; Develop strategic initiatives over the short, medium and long term; Set strategic plan for meeting with potential high net worth clients to analyze their current portfolio/income plan for deficiencies, and discussing alternative strategies and objectives; Develop communication plan and materials related to complex topics including; Portfolio Analysis, Estate Planning, Succession Planning, Retirement Income Planning, Asset Allocation and Tax Planning; Develop and implement strategies to use with client’s current team of CPA’s and tax attorneys; Develop advisory plans for the business to use to advise on current and upcoming tax situations with the goal to provide succession and future income planning with high net worth business owners; Develop business SOPs on securing long term client relationships through effective communication and quick problem solving as market changes necessitate; Assess emerging portfolio management techniques and new retirement planning strategies to incorporate into business development plans; Build the Advanced Planning Advisors firm brand in the Chicago land area; Manage client acquisition budget of $125K per year with the objective to maintain a minimum of 400% ROI; Devise and present Retirement Workshops for individuals with investable assets of $250K or more with the average being closer to $500K covering complex topics such as Estate Tax Planning, Portfolio Management and Strategies, Different Assets Classes including but not limited to: large cap stocks, small cap stocks, investment grade bonds, high yield bonds, life insurance, IRA/401K rollovers and strategies, small business retirement plans, rules regarding distributions, Mutual Funds, Annuities and pension rollovers and election options; Attend events with local Chamber of Commerce, small business advisory groups, industry functions, such as conferences on specific strategies and provide feedback and information on market and changing trends; Select a group of six current clients to sit on our advisory board and lead meetings with the purpose of strengthening relationships with key existing clients, receive direct feedback on current strategies and implement new ideas. Board will serve as extension of current grassroots marketing in the community; and Research and organize two client only social events throughout the year to help strengthen current relationship. Interview potential candidates for position of Business Development Associates; Candidates must possess similar skill and education backgrounds (Bachelor degree in Business or Marketing) to continue to deliver the high level of professionalism that is expected of APA; New associates will train at both Naperville and Mokena locations through participation in seminars, consultative meetings with existing clients and procurement of new clientele through leads generated at seminars and personal contacts; Training and conduct manuals will be developed by current administration staff; and Performance management will be administered through clear objectives, monthly/quarterly reviews and strict adherence to the company code of conduct. Will supervise one administrative assistant.
This position requires the applicant to possess at least a High School diploma and 12 years of experience in a related position. Requires the applicant to have an Illinois Life Insurance License and Series 65 License; Minimum 10 years of experience in developing and implementing successful strategic marketing campaigns; Experience hiring, training and managing new employees; Experience building a company from the inception with a proven track record for increasing sales and profits; Experience running an International Company; Experience in Territory Management; Experience in public speaking to groups of 40 or more people; Ability to present complex strategies to very highly sophisticated clientele; Experience with Customer Relationship Management; and experience in negotiating with vendors. Travel to various industry training events throughout the US as needed.
